HYPNOTIST                                   MENTALIST

Welcome to my blog

This is where I share some of the stuff that's going through my head at any given moment.

Imagine your plane has landed and you're all set to perform for a big client. However, with only hours to spare, you realize your baggage - most importantly, your stage props - did not show up at the baggage claim. This is the premise behind a really crazy contest I've gotten myself in to.

On September 15, I'll be joining 6 other magicians at Revival Bar in Toronto. We will be presented with two random draws to make. The first will reveal what kind of budget we have to work with (different for each contestant) and the second draw will be to find out which store we'll be restricted to shopping at, (again, a different place for each contestant.)

We have only a couple of hours to purchase whatever materials we can find at our respective shops before we present a ten minute performance in font of a panel of Toronto's top magicians. All we know ahead of time are a handful of the stores that will be included in the draw; places like Shoppers Drug Mart, Valu Village and a convenience store.

Now that all said, I think I may be the only one in the contest who doesn't refer to myself as a "magician". I'm a mentalist. Sure, I admit I use a few tricks here and there, but there is so much more to what I do then simply implementing gimmicks and props. Which means, I'm not so sure how this is going to turn out for me, but I do think, at the very least, it's going to be a fun and intersting challenge.

I could certainly use as much support as possible. So, if you're evening is open on the 15th and you'd enjoy some really crazy entertainment, fee free to join me at Revival!
